Leadership Awards

The course is ideal for anyone who wants to lead groups using mixed road and off-road environments.

This qualification provides experienced mountain bikers with the necessary skills to safely guide other riders on off-road terrain.

The British Cycling Night Leader Award is aimed at British Cycling (including SMBLA) accredited mountain bike leaders, with substantial night riding experience looking to lead groups after sundown.

The Mountain Bike Leader Award particularly focuses on leading groups in remote technical terrain. The three-day training course builds upon the skills and knowledge gained at Trail Leader / Level 2

The Mountain Bike Leader Award practical assessment consists of two, full days in which mountain bike journeys into remote, technical terrain will be undertaken.

The new Remote award is a combined training and assessment course run over 3 days. Aimed at experienced holders of the Off Road Leader (Fun MTB) or Trail Leader (Level 2) qualifications, who want to extend their routes beyond the 30 minute walk limitation of their remit, but not increase the technical difficulty of the terrain they can lead on
