The new Remote award is a combined training and assessment course run over 3 days. Aimed at experienced holders of the Off Road Leader (Fun MTB) or Trail Leader (Level 2) qualifications, who want to extend their routes beyond the 30 minute walk limitation of their remit, but not increase the technical difficulty of the terrain they can lead on The course will consist of pre-course online learning modules and 3 days of face to face training from our base at Coed y Brenin. The course will build on existing knowledge and will develop the following skills: Remote route planning and navigational strategies. Remote trail side repairs. Group Management. Judgement Nutrition. Course outline Day 1 – Classroom based with a short ride Day 2 – Group ride of remote route with a focus on training Day 3 – group ride of the same route with a continued focus on training but with an element of assessment. E bikes can be used.
